I was reminded today of the beautiful Japanese philosophy of Kintsugi (repairing cracks in pottery with gold) which honors past “brokenness” while celebrating healing... instead of hiding emotional or physical scars, true healing comes from examining the nature of past wounds and recognizing the potential to become even more enriched and strengthened having had those painful experiences.
"I want to be able to take a breath and think things through."
"I haven't been able to talk about this with anyone before."
"I am glad I could vent to someone who isn't going to laugh at me or think that I am weird."
No judgment. Really.
